Provo College Nursing "Pass Rate" Above the National Norm
College Reports Registered Nursing Graduate 100% Pass Rate
September 21, 2007 - Provo, Utah ' Provo College, providing degree, certification and diploma programs in Utah, today announced that the 2007 graduating class completed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) with a 100% first-time pass rate. The Utah State Board of Nursing reports that the NCLEX national average first-time pass rate for registered nurses is 88%.
I'm very pleased with our test scores and with the success of our new nursing graduates,' said Gordon Peters, Provo College President. 'Our community can be confident about the quality of care Provo College nursing graduates provide in our hospitals, doctor's offices and clinics.
'Provo College not only taught me the material necessary to pass the NCLEX, but also the study skills to prepare for this licensure exam; study skills that I did not have prior to attending Provo College,' said Jacoy Martin, a 2007 graduate who has accepted a position in a hospital post-surgical unit. I'm confident that my education has given me a solid foundation upon which to build my nursing career.
